Café and restaurant branding is always a challenge, a challenge to curb our appetite. Surely the “starving artist” thing wouldn’t work here!
Luckily for Spezzagrano it’s located in Hamburg, otherwise we would have been tasting dishes instead of devising brand identity. And we had enough work to do – everything from menus to social media.
We found Spezzagrano’s unique selling proposition – their own traditionally milled flour. That’s why the millstone became the basis for this visual identity. It embodied traditions and modernity, representing local tastes.
The austere and crafted visual identity depicts Spezzagrano’s devotion to their work and invites others to come all the way to Hamburg to get a taste. The logo conveys their hospitality to anyone coming in for a bite of pizza or a dinner for two.
